PWP 32 | Parents Who Work to Kick Shoulds to the Curb

parenting, should, guilt, kids, children, parenting, family, marriage, self-growth

I think there are more unspoken and spoken shoulds in parenting/childcare/self-care/marriage than almost any other area of life.

Today we talk about giving permission to let go of everything you’ve been told you SHOULD do in order to figure out what you must do.

Listen to hear the biggest should I had to remove from my life, a should I’m keeping but never shared here before and the activity I wanted to do more than anything but felt too guilty to do it.

This episode is strongly based around The Crossroads of Should and Must by Elle Luna.  I don’t know Elle, I found her long before the book was ever written and I just really like her work.  She has, without knowing it, greatly influenced my life and this episode.

It doesn’t have to be the start of a new year.

Two days in a row?

With this new resolve to be charting and following my own path, I am releasing episodes as often as I want.

Could mean everyday, could mean once a month.

I want to be sharing because I find it valuable. Not because it’s Thursday.

Listen to today’s episode if you want to hear me sound super uncomfortable and scared.

Which subsequently is also the sound of growth and of courage.

And be super sure you are already in the private FB group because today’s behind the scenes involves Chris using power tools with our gingerbread house.

If you are new to podcasts and don’t know how to get started, Young House Love has a great guide to help you.  I’d like to make my own guide at some point, but for now use theirs.  It’s awesome.  Just type in “Parents Who” instead of “Young House Love” when you get to the search step.  Or search for both if you like home design as much as I do!

PWP 29 | Parents Who Separate

parenting, parents, kids, family, mom, dad, mothers, stay at home mom, marriageToday is the day.

We are relaunching the relaunch of the Parents Who Podcast.

Listen to this episode if you are curious where we’ve been for the last four months and where Parents Who is headed.

Recording and publishing these episodes doesn’t get any easier by the way.  But I think that’s how we often know we’re on the right track.
